Metropolitan Community Health Services, Inc. State Funded Rehab
Metropolitan Community Health Services (MCHS) is an answer to the need for adequate and culturally appropriate health care. We proudly serve the communities of Eastern North Carolina by providing many services, including family-centered primary health care, community education, and HIV/AIDS care. MCHS encompasses the Agape Clinic and Access Health of Beaufort County.
We are dedicated to the low-income and indigent members of our community and strive to empower these populations. With a broad variety of services available, we are able to impact the physical, mental, and financial circumstances of our clients. We strongly feel that this continuum of care is necessary to impact the long-term health and wellness of challenged people. MCHS also assists its clients with housing, finances, and health care as part of our mission. The divisions of MCHS are in constant contact allowing a comprehensive overview of clients, circumstances, and better overall interventions, while retaining and respecting each client's privacy.
We began offering services in 1998 under Metropolitan Housing & CDC, Inc. and were incorporated in 1999. Metropolitan Community Health Services is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and is a federally qualified community health center under section 330 of the Public Health Act. We provide healthcare to our community members regardless of age, race, and faith.
Mission
The mission of MCHS is to provide high quality, comprehensive, coordinated, primary health care and supportive services to the low-wealth community, and improve the health of persons and communities with effective health interventions, patient education, and chronic disease management.
