UMMA Free Clinic, founded in 1996, grew out of the need of highest quality medical services to the medically indigent and medically underserved population of South Central Los Angeles and surrounding areas by medical and graduate students at UCLA and Charles R. Drew University. Most of UFCs staff are volunteers that assist in every level of patient care. UFC was founded on the principle that health care access is a fundamental right for those living in our society. Additionally, UFC hopes to break the walls of ethnic, racial, and religious intolerance by providing a forum where socially conscious individuals from diverse backgrounds come together for the common purpose of caring for the needy.
